Dr med. dent. Eduardo Mahn, DDS,DMD How to replace, improve and create esthetic restorations based on a minimal invasive concept Course date: Sunday, October 02, 2011 03:30 AM (EST)
Due to their esthetic potential, ceramics have been the material of choice for the most demanding patients for many years. Unfortunately, ceramics are still associated with many compromises: aggressive preparation, short survival rates, cracks and brittleness.
Course starts at 13.00 hrs Indian Time (in India)
Modern ceramics are finally able to restore teeth in a truly conservative manner: The dream of being able to create crowns, partial crowns, onlays and veneers with only one material has come true. Exceptionally thin veneers and even "non-prep veneers" are a reality today. Other factors that influence the success of ceramic restorations are the proper choice and application of suitable adhesive systems and resin cements. Unfortunately, on the one hand, improvements in cements have prompted the industry to offer a real myriad of them, while on the other hand, only few options are available for esthetic cementation, and a few guidelines can make the decision quite straightforward.
In order to achieve a successful restorative outcome with this kind of materials, it is essential to make a correct diagnosis, to establish an appropriate treatment plan and to follow a pre-determined sequence of steps during the treatment procedure. With the development of computers, photography and software applications several new tools are available to clinicians, which are really valuable for most of the cases, especially when improvements in the smile are desired.
The lecture will present new digital diagnostic tools, imaging effects, photography tips and clinical cases, ranging from the diagnosis and treatment planning to the latest improvements in all-ceramics and the final cementation of the restoration. The attendees will be able to see completely documented cases in HD and dynamic photography from A to Z.
Participants will learn:
To understand esthetic parameters for a predictable treatment planning and smile design
To learn about the latest improvements in ceramics and cements as well as their limitations and new possibilities
To understand and learn how to master esthetic challenges with minimal invasive approaches
Esta conferencia se planificó para Asia, por lo que la haremos en inglés. Sin embargo si existe interés, no tengo ningún problema en hacerla mas adelante también en español. Podrías sugerirlo a DT study club.
